How come " From dusk til dawn" isn't really discussed when it comes to Tarantino films overall.

I know he didn't direct it but he sure did write it. I been hearing for the past month or so about people rating the "9" tarantino films but FDTD is never mentioned and it feels wrong considering that movie play out like one of his movie during the first half like any of his other movies. So why is it never included?

It's not brought up as much as even True Romance or Natural Born Killers (which he took his name off of) b/c it's seen as a blemish on his resume. Even though it was the intention to have an ongoing plot get thrown into chaos by running into a bar of vampires, the A-Story was too damn good and everyone wanted to see that play out rather than a vampire killing gore fest. Them meeting their connect and Richie's psychotic obsession with the daughter fukking something up in what would be a otherwise smooth parting of ways and how that plays out is so much more interesting than what we got.

That said, I still appreciate the flick for what it is, but the beginning was too damn good to abandon.

There's a cinema close to where I live that is showing all the tarantino movies on the big screen again, now that the new one came out. I watched pulp fiction last week and from dusk till dawn two days later. To be honest I was disappointed with the latter. From dusk till dawn doesn't compare and really didn't age very well. The dialogue is not on the same level and the movie just isn't as well crafted as a tarantino movie. Tarantino basically makes B movies with the attention to detail and overall quality of an arthouse flick. From dusk till dawn is just a B movie, except maybe for casting George Clooney as the lead :yeshrug:

I thought he took his name off of it because they changed it up so much, that it wasn't really his vision anymore.

it was entertaining but felt like a completely different movie, just turned silly as hell. The first half just makes me want a whole Quentin Tarantino road trip movie with 2 killers trying to get to Mexico
