not sure but on first impression aborigines are kinda weak as far as might. they . new zealand culture is more warrior based so i feel like they had more resistance that lead to more rights. they have similar issues , heres an article i googled . Good question. New Zealanders respect the Maori heritage and keep it strong in their culture but Aussies straight up disrespect the aboriginals and the aboriginals have no strength or power to do anything about it

What are the respective dates of the colonizers entering those countries?
.I know that Australia was a penal colony where England flushed their toilets and sent their criminals.
I know less about who the colonizers were in NZ. Which segment of society they came from and what was the nature/purpose of them entering that territory.

Not cos of that.

Māoris assimilated quickly into European culture & signed treaties while aborigines didn’t. Once you look at how most Māoris are white passing today compared to aboriginal Aussies - it’s a good pointer.

New Zealand is also a tiny Island compared almost a damn continent that Australia is. So cacs were naturally more ruthless with Aborigines due to the enormous resources they know they’ll find there. Just look at demographics of the 2 countries: Māoris are like 17% of New Zealand while Aborigines are like 3% of Australia.

Why do you feel the need to compare Australians to people in New Zealand. they are culturally different, have different perspectives and there are a lot of mixed people in NZ with the indigenous. Australians are a lot more hostile and standoffish with their natives.

But the most obvious point is darker people always face more hostility.
