How come new rappers can't top 90's rappers?

There was definitely a higher standard back in the 90s, I won't front. But it's called the Golden Era for a reason. It only happens once. Enjoy the past for what it was, and enjoy the present for what it is. If anything, just complain about the lack of balance on radio. There are plenty of incredible artists out there now, you just have to find them. And the more you constantly compare them to the 90s, the more frustrated you'll be.

Plus, it's always :russ: to me when people act like no one was ever wack in the 90s, or no one was ever "commercial" in the 90s. 90s had greats, and they had garbage too, just like now.

...because they grew up in a "comfortable space" and didn't have to face those "harsh realities":heh:

There are still rappers out there who can rap on the level of dudes from the 90's imo. However they aren't necessarily putting out classic albums.

Reks spits as well as anyone imo. Superb flow, strong content, solid rhyming, maybe the lyrical complexity is lacking though. Thaione Davis is another guy with amazing flow who put out great music, although again maybe his lyrical talent is slightly lacking compared to some of the 90's rap. The problem is these dudes don't get enough attention for whatever reason.
