Simple. They moved from 12 games to 14 games to 16 games and are now trying to put an 18-game season into place. Jim Brown WOULD hold all of the rushing records but he does not because he played 12 games a season (and of course retired at a young age/still on the top of the game). Emmitt is a great running back but you cannot point to his career rushing numbers and say without a doubt that he is The GOAT. It's tough to care about a lot of these records. Look at Brees for example. He is throwing the ball 50 times a game. No doubt his numbers are insane and impressive but it is just a totally different game now than it was in 1960.
