I saw a tweet in the main thread that said one of the wives of the officers said that he was an incredible shot and well trained. Dude probably had them at a choke point and a clean line of sight on anybody that walked through.
What I find interesting is the reporters said they heard one loud bang. I'd think if dude saw them driving a robot to him he'd have fired at it and you would have heard more than one bang. More like some gunfire then an explosion if it got to him.
Either way I'm pretty sure the last thing he wanted was to get caught by the police, dude was willing to die that night for a bigger cause.
I definitely see more drones used on the American public in the future smh.

the local news is saying they drove the robot up to him and he laughed at it and was singing. They said they talked to him for several hours before they drove the robot up there. I know, I know, false flag, didn't happen.

That wasnt the first time DPD used a bomb to end hostile situation. They used on last June when that crazy white dude lit up the DPD HQ in an armored van.
