How could going to a HBCU possibly benefit me more than a PWI would?

Auburn is 85% white
One of my friends been giving me shyt cause they're going to Tuskegee(87% black)

I understand the black professors and being around more black people, that's nice and all, but other than more black friends I truly don't see any other benefit in that after college. If they end up being just as broke as me tryna teach some kids in a school with terrible pay.

Mixed in with all the shyt I've heard about HBCUs and how bad they are ran and managed. I couldn't handle it, from sometimes there not being hot water, the staff having attitudes and the technology being a few years back. Nah nah

In a school with so many white people I'll get to know the black people though, it's inevitably gonna happen unless I was trying to not interact with them.

I'm not saying all HBCUs are bad, but just from what I heard about them I wouldn't go. Just seems like too much struggle just because I'll be around and get to know more black people. If you plan on starting a business or something and want to work with only or mainly black people I understand, but I wanna be a teacher and there ain't no damn way ima have any power like that my first years
.

And,
Auburn: $49,404
Tuskegee: $63,447
Auburn $14,043 cheaper.

And I mean, being around a bunch of middle class-upper middle class southern bred white girls can't hurt too bad, unless they on that "black boys are scary" shyt.

Especially the girls in Auburn :whew:

You gonna feel alienated as a black person at a PWI son...especially one like Auburn that's 81% white.

You're basically a black dot on a white sheet of paper at that point.

I'm 6'8" and ugly as shyt I'll stick out anywhere but a D1 basketball game

Don't do it breh...as much as I hate to admit it HBCUs are terrible.

It's impossible to get anything done in their offices, they're always losing your shyt. At a HBCU you have to know your stuff, and what you need just as well as your counselors or you won't graduate on time.

Plus, as hard as it is to admit. Unless you're the c00nest of c00ns, you're going to get tried of being surrounded by black people constantly. At least I did, I couldn't wait to get out.

The only benefit of being at a HBCU is more people that you relate to unless you're like Carlton Banks, which is unlikely since you're a 6'8'' Black male. Seriously though, I would implore you to choose Auburn because of all of the messed up things I've heard about front offices at HBCUs. May not be true for all, but there's always some truth when you keep hearing the same thing repeated. You also want to think about connections. Anyone who is realistic knows that you get better connects when you link up with White people. You may not see eye-eye on some things, but business is business. :yeshrug:Not to mention that $14k is a lot to save.

I most def put the bold into consideration.

But yeah, add everything I've read and heard about HBCUs and that 14k being saved just sounds better and better

"How would I benefit from going to an all Catholic school"

-Asked by no catholic ever

"How would I benefit from going to an all Jew school"

-Asked by no Jewish person ever

You already lost. :camby: Best you head to Auburn and get started on your journey as a token. You already have an affinity for white girls so you'll be fine :pachaha:

Take your ass to a PWI; its obvious you wouldn't survive or thrive in an HBCU setting where you have close personal and progressive relationships with the student body, the professors, and the community...go to the PWI where you'll be a number and nothing else to everybody.

Exactly. These dudes act as if they are the first to go to a PWI, like a HBCU is going to miss their presence. :pachaha:

More connections? lol Ask any brotha outside of athletics who went to a PWI, whether or not they keep in touch with their college buddies ie business connections or friendships. :mjlol:

The little white boys you kicked it with in high school who you thought were "down" will act like you don't exist once they hit college and enter cacdom(fraternities and just life). You won't even exist on their social networks..Now when you graduate peep all your friends who went to HBCU's. They forged lifelong friendships. Meaningful friends that are essential to surviving as a black man in this country. Good luck OP :salute: but better men have run the gauntlet and ended up with egg on their face.
