They knew what was going to happen because they were developing it.

I remember reading an interview with someone from either Microsoft or Sony and they said the future is looking incredible. When he goes to his living room at home he said he felt like he stepped backwards in time 10 years.

youd be surprised what kind of technology was available in 93. just not consumer-ready yet or in embryo stages of development/standard writing

on the real tho, stop treating it like some nostradamus shyt

internet was well functioning in 93, for a while.
there were digital to analog converters
cell phones
HD standard came out in like 91
sending signals over air was done since radio and tv days
moores law was proving that computers will become powerful and chips/transistor ratio was getting smaller and smaller

tech heads knew what was up.

you put all these things together and its not hard to see the near future

now if this happened in the 50s or 60s...THEN itd be weird.

its like the same way we can say with a degree of confidence there will be a lot of autonomous cars driving down the road in 20 years. the technology is here now.

I thought it was common knowledge that military tech is years ahead of consumer tech. They werent predicting the future. They were saying " the army has this, sometime down the line we'll let you have too...after they've moved on to something more advanced."

Damn I'm old. I remember these commercials. I still ain't got my hover board though dammit. Dr. Emmitt Brown and Marty McFly promised me that they would be out by the year 2005 and I still ain't got one.
