I think it came from the sense of relief that FINALLY a Black male with a platform, in no uncertain terms, said what many of his peers refuse to say.

Women are comparing what Jesse Williams did, to what Black male celebs won't do.

Cherishing Black women, in a way that isn't sexual or exploitative, and offering a promise to do better.

It's just not a regular thing, and Black women are disgusted by that fact.

A blue eyed, mixed person with his white supremacy benefitted white mother regurgitating sentiments by Black activists should not be treated like the second coming of Malcolm X. The fact that Black women are buying into his pandering when he needs them to support his career is pathetic. We do not need a half white savior when white people have always said without them we are nothing.

EDIT:

Having a white woman's son, a generationally mixed male ( whom Eartha Kitt said told her the morning after they slept together that there was nothing a Black woman could do for him) with a white wife and even more mixed kids, a white woman's daughter whose only activism was a response to a snide remark about her braid extensions which she removed the next day (and is currently the spokesperson for a hair straightener aimed mostly at non Afro hair) as the face of Black activism is beyond problematic and one of the biggest jokes ever. It's an homage to white supremacy.

Because mothafukkas in our camp can't even let something stand on its own. One thing has nothing to do with each other, and any positives, even if its just lipservice, gets

b*stardized into something else to shame someone. Notice, its fine if you say folks be out here disrespecting their sistas...nah, mothafukka had to take it somewhere else and

say "A man with a white mom loves sistas more than you." Divisive as fukk. shyt like this is why folks can never come to a consencus, cause whether you pro black, pro equality,

just some regular ass mothafukka, being right and taking jabs at folks is ALWAYS more important than common ground. Al-fukking-ways. Check the Jesse Williams thread.

Why the fukk did it turn, from page one, into some other shyt about who is black or who is doing what? Mothafukkas wonder why race threads don't fly in TLR...same shyt that happens

in real life, happens on here x100. Nobody stays on topic. Always some infighting bullshyt.

Only read the 1st and last sentence and that's all that needs to be said.

It's really sad

This thing called the internet and social media is probably the worst thing that could happen to black people

If Jesse didn't rely on his Black female fan base for his career, I wouldn't side eye his pandering to Black women so much. It's practically a given that people know that some Black women will relish any praise given to them and help further their careers...Kendrick Lamar p, Timberfake, etc, etc, He might be as genuine and nice as could be, but I've seen the "Black women are the greatest bait and switch" show before.

Black Americans are very complex people. Nothing is ever as simple as it sounds/seems. There is always countless different spins and takes on everything especially on race.
Just another effect of this thing called "freedom of expression". Gotta take the good with the bad :manny:
