How Did Bradshow Turn Into JBL?

He was probably the last true heel in the WWE. Refused to do anything that might get him over, refused ANY merchandise, didn't have any catchphrases or moves that were flashy and nearly always won his matches via fukkery, cheating or by the skin of his teeth
I legit hated him when I was younger

I came in here to post this. Dude was the last heel I legit hated.

I remember this now I recall Farooq carrying his bag and saying his goodbyes to Bradshaw in the parking lot that's when I was watching less and less. In retrospect his reinvention was insane.

Also I thought it was a little weak how he want from midcard ability (in kayfabe) to wrestling for the title damn near overnight with little change in style or explanation for his sudden improvement in standing. He's not the only one to get a push like that tho, it's actually a pet peeve of mine.

There was a segment after WM XX..he had already cut his hair and shaved...he didn't back up Farooq in a segment backstage and the camera closed in on him and the crowd booed REAL hard.

This was during my freshman year of college I didnt keep up with the E like I could but I randomly watched Smackdown and saw Bradshaw as champ I first I was like ten he started spitting ether at Eddie G I was like

He turned over night and got that Mega push

same for me breh, Randy Orton won the title my first night on campus, i was looking at this like then when i would occasionally turn to smackdown and saw JBL's cabinet

i was like

dude was hot garbage but in retrospect, he is a legend comparing him to the likes of Miz, Mizdow, Seth, etc

Always thought he had main event potential as well. Him and Edge were my 2 picks to come out the Attitude Era and be champs. I got a good eye i guess...

I never got into the promo where you tried to one up the other guy. I helped all my baby faces with their promos-or at least I would let them know what I was going to say so that I wouldn’t bury them-or surprise them. I was there to put them over, and if I did my job I would get over even more. The idea of one upping someone can be funny-and I certainly did that as a rib several times, but when you want heat and you have to be serious-it has no place, in my opinion.

I clown on JBL for his terrible commentary but I gotta give him respect for that right there.
