Mega put out like 4-5 disses before Nas responded with Destroy & Rebuild. That response had been a looonng time in the making. He also put out more disses after the fact. But Jungle, Wiz and other Braveheart goons were still heavy in QueensBridge during that time, NOTHING was going to happen to Nas and its not like Nas was out on the block just chillin anyway. The man was a star touring the nation and didn’t even live in QB anymore.

In the middle of all that beef, they still were somewhat civil. For example, if I remember correctly, Nas’ mother died during that period and Cormega reached out with condolences. Mega was also on the QB compilation, they both were close with a common set of QB rappers, etc.

The beef took off on the highest level after the QB compilation when Mega claimed he was accused of taking some rented jewelry at that Bridge 2001 video shoot. Nas saying "Mega for the record you can suck my dikk" was Nas responding back to Mega who said "suck my dikk" first, on his way out after being accused to taking the jewelry. Right after that, those numerous disses from Mega started including the Ill Will/daughter is Jay Z's stuff. Mega acknowledging Nas moms death was after all of that.
