IVERSON PLAYED FOR BROWN
FOR 6 SEASONS AND AVERAGED
24 SHOTS OVER THAT SPAN.

BEING A 2ND YR PLAYER
BROWN CAME IN EARLY ENOUGH
TO MOLD A.I. INTO WHATEVER
HE WOULD BECOME

Good. now do yourself a favor and compare and contrast the two situations.

I love how Billups is never scared to admit that Melo was a selfish player.:pachaha:

He had no choice I think what he’s insinuating he’s going to play as hard on the defensive end as the offensive end. He never made the all defensive team in his career.

I have changed course on this. I used to think it was automatic 2 or 3 chips. But this aint 2K. Pistons were a defensive oriented team team. Would a young Melo had been willing and or able to get in where he fit in? Is he playing the 4 with Tayshaun at the 3? Do they still get Sheed? A lot of questions as to how that all works.

He never made an all defensive team once in his career? Kobe Bryant had 12 selections. Yet when Melo was a Knick he kept saying “Phil needs to come coach us”. Why would he want to coach a player that don’t play defense after he’s coached Michael and Kobe?:jbhmm: Sad to say Melo just wasn’t on that level as a complete player. I think he was an all star but not a superstar.

In the best case scenario he possibly comes off the bench that first year as a super sub. Maybe he makes Rip or Tayshaun expendable the following offseason if he shines in that role and is put in the starting lineup at the 2 or 3 depending on which one they trade. Being around cats like Ben and Chauncey he takes pride in defense and realizes getting stops is just as important as scoring. Again this is the best case scenario in my mind.
