How disrespectful is it to call someone a half breed?

Get a call from my homegirl(who is mixed). Conversation went like this

Her: Wassup, what you doing ******?

Me: shyt, what are you up to, house ******?

Her: Oh so i called you a ****** so you're gonna call me a house ******?

Me: Would you prefer half breed?

Her: *gasp* hangs up.



i call back she doesn't answer. Like an hour later she sends me a text talmbout how i know she never met her dad and what i said was disrespectful to his half of her family. i apologized but i don't really feel like i crossed a line. Especially since she started it.

It depends on the individual, but I wouldn't be cool with being called a half-breed. It's always came off as condescending to me.

Also real disrespectful IMO when someone who's mixed gets called not black, yet they publicly identify as a black person.

If a mixed person pridefully considers themselves black, they black.
