How do I get my dreads to not stand up?

My dreads are about an inch and a half long but they stand straight up all around.
The only time they stay down is right after I wash them, then once they get dry they stand up.
What can I do to make them stay down?

wear a scarf or other head thing to sleep. its winter rock a tight skully

i had that issue but i just let them stand after a while, because when i tried to lay them, they looked like i was trying to lay them...so...

as long as there clean and oiled, standing isn't so bad. they'll get enough weight to chill eventually

I need my dreads to do the exact opposite

Might lay down to much and I want them to have more "bounce"
