How do modern producers eat?

I'm assuming the $100k a track days are gone.
Was listening to Purple Reign on the way home just like to them beats.
MetroBoomin giving away tons of classic beats (to me) to mixtapes. Even if these producers get a feature on the official album....albums don't sell anymore. Artists can eat off show money supposedly (360 deals says hi ) but producers not named AraabMusik or Just Blaze don't tour as far as I know.

And what is Lex Luger up to now days? He's basically the father to this modern trap sound but I ain't really been hearing him on anything lately

They are starving...Every big hit is produced by a handful of producers...

The best way is to find a rapper with charisma who loves your sound and to build together...That is the pattern that has been working in Hip Hop for many years...
