How do y'all choose hats to go with your fit

I know y'all probably looking at the title and going wtf! but I'm serious.

Usually I just wear my NY Yankees Fitted or a black/white Nike dad hat and call it a day cause that goes well with most clothing however I sometimes see people doing it differently and with different colors and wondered how they were able to pull that off.

With that said how do y'all choose what hats to wear with what fit?

Do you always try to make the hat match your outfit? And if not how do you go about choosing the right hat that wouldn't clash with your clothing?

I hear what you're saying breh but there are times where people use colors that don't coordinate according to the color wheel and still pull it off but I'll look more into it.
