I'm 26 but i feel very much out of touch with twitter. I skipped the initial adoption phase when people were jumping on it because i didn't like the layout and format.

skip to now, and twitter has become a great place to segment and access news, info, and content fast. however, it is also a terrible place, more so if you're a straight black male and/or straight black woman who's views differ from the hive mind. note; i'm writing this from a black person's perspective as i don't know how the experience differs for other races.

it seems the place is an echo chamber for pseudo-intellectuals woke types, man-hating under the guise of "feminism", lgbtq advocates, oppression athletics, c00ns, wenches and white-knights, and people dead set on berating and imposing their views on anyone not willing to fall in line.

I don't have a twitter but I have a few handles i memorised that i check for news and specific content (sports, music, videogames, and uplifting things involving black people or that could be done to uplift black people, as well as tv shows/movies). And I understand that one could tailor and personalise their twitter feed according to their interests but it seems like there's no escaping some of the conversations, attempts at brainwashing, trolling, and overall stupid shyt that go on there.

Its a constant loop of convenient infantilization of women to strip them of any responsibility, incessant scapegoating and demonizing of straight black males, and lgbtq agenda pushing that somehow always turns into inserting themselves in all spaces and ends up with someone being called some type of "phobic". then you get fringe groups that do weird shyt like c00ns doing the most for sexual access to non-black women, or celebrating, emphasis on celebrating, black women dating white men (today i saw a 30+ black single mother asking her followers "if paul newman, marlon brando and james deen asked them to get on the bangbus van what would they do?"), or randomly shytting on darkskin, or the depiction of black men and women as hyperactive sexual deviants, or just overall attention seeking, from the repetitive jokes and thirst traps to the "exposals", to disingenuous, intellectually lazy/dishonest blanket statements made for retweets.

how do yall handle all this shyt? it doesn't seem like its a place conductive for a good mental state. I feel like if i had a twitter i'd be hot all the time. take for example the coli, you could make the case that the coli is full of women/men hating posters, as well as find some of the elements i mentioned regarding twitter, c00ns etc, but overall there's still some balance, and outside the corny diaspora wars, there still seems to be a circumference of unity and sentiment of wanting the betterment and well-being of black people all across the board. Twitter seems incredibly skewed towards bitterness, dishonesty, attention seeking and being gay.

Twitter is unequivocally the number one place for up to the second unfiltered information, jokes and to communicate with like minded people. its pretty simple fam, follow people that share your interests and interact.

the thing is your age group isn't on twitter like that. I'm 33, my entire peer group was on there when it came out

Pretty much this except there is a huge following of 20-35 years old.

Twitter is just a platform. The platform itself isn't the problem. It's the people who utilize said platform.
