How do you add faces and smileys to GIFs?

I decided to come off the sidelines and join in on the fun. I know how to create gifs from vids in photoshop but how do yall make them joints like this:

Basically you have to put the smiley layer above the layers you want the smiley to appear in. Then you have to go through each frame one by one and move the smiley exactly where you want it appear. It can be time consuming depending on how long the gif is/pasting multiple smilies,etc

How do you paste the smiley onto all the frames? It's only showing up in the first frame.

click on the smiley layer and drag it above all the layers you want the smiley to appear in

Aight one more question, and I hope this makes sense. How do you get the smiley to rotate horizontally in the gif? When I rotate it changes it for all the frames. I want to alternate back and forth (imagine the smiley shaking its head).

You're gonna have to paste the same smiley only have it rotated/flipped how you want it to be. For example:

I had two smiley layers. One regular and one flipped the other way. I made them visible in the frames where it made sense.

Like I said breh, shyt can be time consuming

for getting the hang of it

Depending on the .gif, you could also use a video editing software à la After Effects to do so. The longer the .gif is, the easier it is to do those type of softwares.

when i do it, i goto the first layer of the first frame and paste the smiley above it, then i duplicate the smiley layer and drag it up above the next frame layer
