My favorite uncle was an alcoholic and he always tells me to never drink alone, never drink when I’m sad or mad, and never drink before 5.

My uncle died of kidney failure last year due to alcohol.

I’m surprised he lived to 65 because I’ve seen him drink till he’s face down in the street my whole life.

His dad and brothers drank too so I guess that’s how he learned how to deal with his emotions.

Drinking on weekends > drinking on weekends and Thursday > drinking most nights > drinking too much and getting really bad hangovers > drinking in the morning to cure hangovers > drinking after work too > drinking every morning > try to quit but get the shakes > realize you have to drink all day or you’ll have a seizure > drink all day > feel bad about drinking all day all the time, which leads to drinking more > getting worse and worse shakes > drinking a fifth a day
