My brother [from another mother] for over 28 years died this week and I am literally feeling like life is meaningless. This was a good dude, who everybody loved, who was a giver and truly was the best type of friend a person could ever want.

Always supportive, never judgmental, loved to laugh, a willing listener, but always had something to say. I haven't really cried, but this guy was one of the most important people in my life and now he's just gone forever.

Does anyone have any advice? Everyone else I could talk to right now in NYC (I'm in LA) is asleep.

This hurts really bad. How does a healthy person in their 30's just die?

People leave.
It happens.
Sorry.

...but the world don't stop.

The solace I take is that even though they are gone, they are just the same as you remember them.
In your memories, they are still that person and you get to keep your memories...I know that's kind of strange,
but I say that because i've lost friends that are still alive, we just aren't friends anymore...and when you meet up
with them again and they've changed, that can be just like your good friend dying.
