How do you feel about Bill de Blasio's plan to provide health insurance for all NYC residents?

I wonder if this will save any money since I know illegals already go to hospitals and don't pay. That being said, I have to imagine this will incentivize even more illegals to move to NYC.

Are you dense or what?

Are there any other countries where illegal immigrants get free healthcare?
All countries that signed up UN's Sustainable Development Goals agreed to cover them, as the universal coverage (including the illegal immigrants) is one of the goals.
At the moment some countries provide only emergency care like Germany, Finland and Norway. In Norway and Finland the pressure is growing to fulfill the UN's goal on universal coverage (city of Helsinki already voted for it) and it will probably happen soon, while Germany is politically more complex...
Some countries already provide universal coverage, like Sweden, France, Italy...

Yes, because they'll be in theory paying and covered the alternative is they're not covered and the state/hospital/taxpayers eat the cost.
There are two aspects to care, general day to day and emergency. It's difficult to control emergency care due to the nature of it. But usually it is one and done in those circumstances if you are illegal. You get reasonable care then get sent back.

Day to day they shouldn't be registered so they get no care unless they can pay for it.

I migrated legally and until I got my NIS card I was subject to emergency taxes where my tax rate was higher than normal until I registered. So there are ways to address this. But ultimately no one is going to turn away someone in dire straits. It's unethical.

I just read Spain restored the healthcare right for illegals last year.
So the countries that have it now seem to be Sweden, France, Spain and Italy...
For the countries of entry it is important to confront the public health risks connected with the unsafe journey of illegals, and they have some EU funding for each illegal immigrant, so that is why they seem to be applying the universal coverage sooner than the others...

I fully support it for legal residents...

I do not support even a penny of my taxes being spent on illegals...

More illegals coming in and more NYkers leaving...

The city is already unlivable for most folk, I'll be gone in 2 years...

And anyone that thinks your taxes won't go up to accommodate this is an idiot...

nah, im sure that the promise of free healthcare for illegals who pay little to no taxes won't result in a cost overrun when it comes to healthcare. what could go wrong there :skip:
