How do you know someone is actually serious about their dreams?

My buddy stayed in NYU forms this past summer since he's a student down in Florida. He's hearing 30. All his dorm mates were 18-22. I met some of em and these kids are fukking smart

One dude is a musician at a top school. Has full albums on itunes and played like 10 instruments. The dude would come home at like 2am and practice till 5. Class at 7am go back practice some more go out drink and come home practice and repeat. He had this crazy ass drive

Another was a coder and he would come home from his job and Google and stay up till 3am coding shyt for himself then go to work the next day. He was wired different though I gotta say. Kid was a machine.

Basically what I saw from them was just this relentless drove to do and be better and I know even if they don't make it in this field they'll be just fine in life unlike my lazy ass :russ:

That's some good shyt breh.
Did you get the AWS certs from Amazon or a 3rd party?
How were the courses?

From Amazon.

I'm doing the architect route. Started with Cloud practitioner

I didn't take any courses for the first cert, I didn't even study that much (just watched a few youtube videos).
I've been using AWS for some time and it was basically fundamental knowledge.

For the associate one, this was starting point.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
I would go watch youtube videos and guides of concepts that were foreign to me but many were not.

I have been a System Engineer for years. I've designed 4 different domains from the ground up. Yeah IAAS and PAAS are different, but most things are exactly the same as what i've been doing.

I only got the certs to make myself more marketable.:ehh:

Walking the walk. I agree the architect path is the way to go. I wouldn't wanna be a developer at this stage in the game. I gotta check this out. I interviewed with Amazon to be an AWS Dev manager, but crashed and burned in the interview. This would be better, since you could extend their technology without having to actually work for them. Good shyt breh.

:salute:

I know plenty of people working towards being rappers because I also wanted to be one. I'm "supposed" to be one of them but I'm not gonna follow the formula so it's a hobby that'll be put down soon enough.

This thread just reminded me how much time I'm wasting on here:francis::snoop:
If you focus on fukkery, then yeah it's a waste, but there are some legit people here that you could network with. I feel social media in general has evolved enough where you can mix business and pleasure. It just depends on how you choose you use it.

dudes who are day dreamers never get shyt done, then those who are bitter at their position in life but never took even one active step to further their goals or plans.

to answer your question, you know this when the person is sacrificing their time for the benefit of their dreams.

so many pseudo careers on here but the time and post count dont match these plans. you cant be logged on shooting shyt for 8 hours daily and achieve anything. i bet some havent missed an 8 hour coli shift since the start of the year.

while those serious about their dreams struggle to find time to sleep.

Now that’s real talk
