Staying Positive, Getting Better Everyday. Holler!
The other night ago I realized this, not only music but movies as well. I'm from the West Coast, grew up on the G-Funk and all of that other stuff, so artists from the East Coast and the South were something out of the norm for me when I first heard them.
But what I'm saying is for my West Coast residents, when you listen to East Coast music do you use your West Coast ears or do you totally wipe the slate clean and come into an album listening experience not expecting anything and taking everything in at once?
Like the West is totally different from the East, you can't compare Tupac to Biggie, because they're two different sounds and it basically comes down to preference.
I'm not sure if I'm explaining it clear enough, but I feel like a lot of music fans come in expecting the norm, even when they're listening to music from a different area; which results in the dislike of music that's highly respected from those who are actually from that area.
