This is what kills me, I get smoothie king shake in the morning and lunch and I've already spent any where from 15 to 18 bucks a day. so I round up to about 20 bucks 5 days a week and thats 400 a month no including weekends.

On smoothies?

I send money to an online bank so I know I'll have to wait to withdraw and use it only for emergencies. I'm trying to eat out less at work and bring lunch more often. I stay in when need be, or if I've used up more than I should that pay period.

1) Pay yourself first. At least 20% of your after-tax income should be automatically whisked away into investments/savings. Pay off your bills and all necessities including a liquid fund for emergencies. You'll then be free to play with whatever is left guilt-free.

2) Keep recurring expenses to a minimum. It's one thing to splurge on a nice fit. It's an entirely different beast to carry around CC debt because you can't control your spending. Same goes with expensive cars and other depreciable extras.

3) Figure out where your money goes. You can do this yourself or use tools such as mint.com etc. to help you. If you feel one area is too out of whack (e.g. dining out) then adjust accordingly.

Make a budget for your daily needs and stick to it. Cut corners wherever you can. Stop eating out and buying little shyt here and there. Stop online shopping for shyt you don't need.

Make a budget for fun activities. 1-200 dollars a week you can spend just on your own amusement

Bank every other dime you get and figure out ways to turn it into more cash. Always live below your means. And if you're gonna splurge do it with profits. For example if you buy a car for 1k and flip it for 1500. Splurge with the 500, put the 1k back in the bank.

Overall just live below your means. Be a cheapskate and you'll never have money problems.
