quiting has nothing to do with whether you can exercise rights, you can even get unemployment if you quit under the proper circumstances, if they treat you in a manner to make you quit. you just had to have seperated and it not be your fault.

but this matter seems like small potatoes. he should just start by sending a certified letter for reimbursement and some change or he will hire an attorney. they would spend more on an attorney to defend this petty shyt right here than to give up some dough to make it go away

speak with a labor lawyer, find a firm that does pro bono

lie about how much money you have if there is some requirement you don't fit, they usually don't check, same goes for tenant lawyers.

if you actually get them to represent you it will matter, but if you just want to ask questions that's the best way to get answers.
