How do you think the world will be now if Japan had become communist like North Korea after WW2?

It is actually possible since the Japanese were also fighting the Soviet Union but thankfully America went in there first. (At a horrific cost of course). But let’s imagine an alternate history where the soviets managed to somehow beat the Japanese, take over and install a Kim Ill Sung type communist system and the country is completely shut off from the world.

No PlayStation, Anime, Nintendo, Toyota, etc. it’s not even worth thinking about

One of the possible and likely reasons for the US deciding to nuke Japan was as a general deterrent to the USSR, but specifically about moving in on Japan. The US was basically saying "We nuked it once, we nuked it twice. If you step foot on it we nuke it thrice." If Germany had not already been firebombed the fukk out and unable to defend its own soil, that being one of the biggest reasons Japan was nuked, they still had a homeland defense.

With that said, I see no scenario where Communism takes hold in post war Japan Unless Russia beat the US to it somehow by outpacing the Island Hopping Campaign.
