How does a 6 year old know when to...as lord and savior.

So, I got a side business painting houses on the weekends. I was painting this couple house, as I was painting over heard the lady tell the husband that they're son is ready to tell the pastor that he is ready to choose Jesus as his Lord and savior. The dad didn't say much. The mother said she was going to let the folk in the church know on Sunday. Now, the kid was maybe 5 or 6 years old in there watching Disney or some shyt. My question is how does a child this age know that much already? Religion should be a big step.

My question is do you think this kid really choose from a calling from the lord or has he been brainwashed. Honestly, I think the maybe on some bullshyt for attention though.

you can't answer this question without having spoken to the child directly to gauge his understanding. There are child geniuses all over the world so it's not impossible for someone that young to understand the teachings of christ.

I dont think most children do at that age. Some might though, I 've met children who were mentally beyond their years before and could digest their own actions and decisions.

My church limits baptism age to 12 because they don't want to baptise someone unless they are fully aware of what it means. There is an hour long class that goes with it.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Like if we don't tell children that there's a "god" would they come to believe in their own or would they just go about life? I'm thinking it'd be the latter.

But to answer your question, I'd saying once their cognitive abilities are better, so somewhere around 18. Since that's when your considered to be your own person, let people choose instead of forcing it upon them.

This is stupid. Both of these situations are big deals. I don't agree with either. It sounds like this parents are pushing this shyt. Kids can't decided if they want the cheese burger or the four piece nugget.

Both are fukked up situations.

I do. But people can't have it both ways. If someone think that it's okay to choose a gender for your child that is opposite their biology then a child should have complete freedom, which includes a freedom to include to serve God.

When I was little I wanted to get saved at 5 but my Mom told me I didn't fully understand what that meant. I believe very few children understand what that actually means just like very few children understand gender dynamics.
