Nelly isn't a hip hop legend like that but he's easily one of the best pop rappers ever. Top 3. It's him, 6 God and...(I'll have to think about the last one - edit: Missy to a certain extent, LL to a certain extent, Luda)

He's also way better and more pure hip hop than whichever savior you're forcing from this era. Fake accolades and all


The difference between the great pop rappers and the shytty pop rappers is that you can tell the great pop rappers are huge hip hop fans. They're not like the pretenders who talk like they care about the genre but their resulting music doesn't bang like great hip hop nor have any replay value.

True he’s better than a lot of new rappers but for the most part outside the singles his discog is basura he got a few gems (Luven me, St. Louie, Splurge, etc) but not enough to be considered a legend by any means
