I know the cliche quotes of you can't look forward to the future if you're stuck in the past.
But dude sometimes, well most times, I think about the precious times I consider important to me in my life A LOT. I could sit here in reminiscent about something forever. How do I fix that?

I'm only in my early 20's its not like I lived a long life. It's just I value the simple things that have happened or the people I've encountered on a high level. shyt is like a double edge sword. I am humble and can appreciate shyt and yet it holds me back and I don't look forward to making new memories.

Anyone else deal with this?

I used to have that problem but then I realized people around me was gonna keep moving forward regardless. And I aint tryna stay stagnant while everybody pass me up :hubie:

Yeah the memories of the past are beautiful especially if they might Involve somebody who's not here anymore but thry already been set in stone B. No matter how much you think about the past it ain't coming back and staying stuck in it gets pretty pointless after awhile b.

I'll put it like this. If you know that you only got a small amount time to live, why would you waste what you got left being wrapped up in shyt that's already been done? Before you know it the time you wasted is gonna be the past too and you gon feel some kinda way about that.

now get off the coli and go live for now, Orlando :dame:

fukk the time being wasted now will be in the past too. The precious time I'm wasting will be regrets smh.
I just get to deep into thought of thinking so easily. Overthinking is a evil skill set.

is it a book?

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.

Most common technique is meditation. Even just focusing on your breathing for a short while can help you become more aware. There are guided meditation sessions all over for whatever topic you want to focus on.

The way I see it, dwelling on the past is a waste of time. That won't magically make you stop doing it, but it's something you have to realize if you want to work towards it. None of us can change the past; it's just a part of our lives that can no longer be altered. Focus on what you're in control of and become a better man.
