Yeah, I actually watched the entire video and I'm not surprised about the criticism.
The presentation is high-quality and gives a professional flair, but the substance is fragmented, so much so that I get how it can become harmful. Add to that aspect his own personal opinion, and you get a narrative that is more entertainment than history.
Case in point, his defense of colonialism under the guise of being nuanced by saying that the moral framework within which colonization is judged today is a European gift. As if the rest of the world didn't develop any moral ideas in relation to which greed, invasion, brutality, theft and unbridled savagery would have been considered bad. That's just one example. He didn't address the impact of slavery on both continents, how the conquest was funded or sold to European populations, the motives...
