Me being from NYC, your influences are on POINT. I’ve experienced everything you listed, and a few other things. The Albee Square Mall is where I realized that it was kill or be killed. Dope experience.

Some NYC add ons:
Big Daddy Kane, summer free lunch, block parties/jams, game rooms, hanging n various BK projects, Decepticons, B-Boying, Jamaican culture, PR/DR culture, Soul in the Hole, Rucker, Yankee Stadium $5 bleacher seats. So much more to list.

Dope concept

My experiences with Albee Square Mall are from the very late 90s, early 00s, when it was on it's last legs.

By the time I started going there, it was a shell of itself from what I was told by my guys, but we still went there often for white tees, mixtapes, burner phones, cheap grub, and shyt like that.

Okay no doubt, I was mid/late 80’s:flabbynsick:
I remember seeing Mark Breland at the mall in the jewelry store and literally hit the :krs: and he gave me the:obama: head nod.

Negged for no DMV love :martin:

I'm from Southern VA, and being as though we're responsible for all of the love the "DMV" gets culturally outside of our area, I left all of us out.

My love for the Mideast goes without saying though.

As far as my particular region, Timbaland, Missy, Pharrell, the Clipse, Allen Iverson, Michael Vick, etc. are all extremely influential, but they'd have to thank nikkas like me for making shyt look cool when out of towners came to our clubs.

As far as Northern VA............

I got nothing.

Grant Hill?

I will thank DC and Southern Maryland for E.U., Backyard, Junkyard, Rare Essence, NE Groovers, etc. though.
