How far would you commute to work?

I'm gonna be moving in September. Contemplating moving further west (closer to PA). My job is in Newark, NJ.

All the spots i'm considering are approx. 1 hour away from my job.

my commute is 2 hours using public transportation. i have about 10 racks saved and i'm moving once i have 15 saved though

Its a soul sucking thing to have a long commute to and after work....shyt has real long term emotional and health effects.

In fact it is high time more jobs expand telecommute options

This is the only real answer.

If I'm making 250K plus, I'll travel 2-2:30 each way.

For the the shyt I'm making now, no more than 50 minutes.

I currently have a 2 he minimum commute to one of my jobs.

Next year once I'm a fully qualified child carer I'll get a pay rise and will be able to ditch the job though.

I try not to spend more than an hr each way. When you working 8 hrs, and sleeping another 8, and trying to get things done, any extra time I can get to be constructive for those last 8 hrs, I will try to get.

Edit: Added, though, if the company is willing to put me in a hotel while I'm out there so I don't have to commute, I'm down.
