so they think it will appeal to a younger audience

They definitely lurk here. I remember one episode mike said "breh". :banderas:

But the highly questionable show tries way harder to be hip with the slang or cultural references plus all the rappers they have on

Tries way too hard or just is naturally 'hipper'

everyone on that show is in generally themselves, lebatard isn't speaking any corny twitter slang. Bomani is on twitter all day and is part of that crowd, but he's a natural curmudgeon so it works. Papi is the only dude they force feed pop culture references to, but come on he's a dude in his 70s. It's supposed to be uncool as hell

I don't know HQ >>>>> His and Hers. Aint even close

Yea but how can you criticize black people for trying to emulate or relate to things associated with their culture whether it's considered hip or not and then give white Cubans a pass who are honestly doing it only because it's hip or funny for ratings,

Yea bomani is black but it ain't even his show. I always saw him as the token black guy added so they can not look like culture vultures or just to relate cause all their guests seem to be black athletes and rappers..... Not white Cuban or Spanish ones:sas2:

HQ is still a "black" show which is pretty rare on ESPN or television in general.

I'm not criticizing His or Hers, I just like HQ better and I don't know if it's a 'black' show per se, but it is a little more 'urban' and targeted to a younger audience that likes not only sports but music, viral videos, music, comedy, etc.

His or Hers I don't think that's all them with the hokey internet lines, I think part of that is the producers wanting to incorporate social media into the show and Jemele and Michael having to eat that to play ball. They do sound corny, but I don't think that's all on them. There's a reason when Bomani says similar internet slang, he sounds comfortable and that's because he's a part of that social media/twitter culture. They're not, so it sounds funny.

The connection people have to sports personalities is fascinating.

I think it's fukking stupid personally..but all of this analysis comes with a degree of interest that you don't even see with news personalities.

It's like even with sports being entertainment, ESPN has convinced people to care about these cut-rate "journalists"

I fukk with His & Hers

I think they could coexist in these coli streets..

Yea Jamele is basically tailor made for the Coli. And she knows her stuff.

And Michael seems like a cool guy. Plus he's from New Orleans. Grew up on the same block as curren$y :manny:
