The real trick would have been how much of the Heart and Hustle 99-00 team they could have kept as supporting players to manage the salaries. I remember they lost Ben Wallace and Chucky Aitkins while getting Grant Hill (Free Agency sign and trade), Corey Maggette got traded in draft when getting Mike MIller and Amechi probably walks to the Lakers then (Though he did stay in Orlando for less cause he would not be a back up but I wonder if Tim takes up frontcourt space depending on the combinations they would have), Ron Mercer, Tariq, Gatling and Monty probably still go?
They'd probably still beast with Darell, Bo, Harpring, Doleac, Garrity Rookie Miller and Monty but those other 3 probably take up the majority of the payroll and I wonder if McGrady develops behind Hill and Duncan or converese if Duncan and McGrady is still enough with that cast if Hill goes down anyway
The East wouldnt have sucked that much also if Zo was healthy on that Heat team that came out of the 2000 offseason with Eddie Jones, Brian Grant and Anthony Mason. Toronto, Philly, The Bucks, Knicks and Pacers would still be good enough to give a little fits.
