You can get a Masters in anything actually. You might have to do a couple prerequisites though, which will take longer as opposed to someone who had a B.S. in accounting.
And to comment on that English degree, I think it will help. Accounting isn't really hard IMO, it's just the wording in all the laws and rules are fukked up
