How has So Far Gone gotten so underrated over the years?

despite having the highest metacritic rating of all his projects (81) some of his best deep cuts, and maybe his all time best deep cuts (Successful, The Calm, Say What's Real) some of his best hooks (Uptown is a go to this day), and one of his highest charting singles (BIEH) why do we never mention this project amongst his best work. It's almost like people forgot about it. Maybe it's because it seems so long ago, even tho it's only been 7 years, and his new music doesn't sound like this at all, but why don't we talk about this project more? :jbhmm:

I personally love it.

Best I Ever Had was the shyt in high school :wow: the remix is even better with Trey and Nicki

but I think people just forgot about it. Drake just keeps getting bigger and bigger, he's like the face of mainstream hip hop right now. Also, his music has evolved so much from where he was at.

It's my favorite Drake project, also.

Honestly, Comeback Season is a personal top 10 to me.
To be honest Everytime someone says this I call bullshyt. Not saying you are, but it always comes off to me like the hypebeast Drake opinion. Nobody was fukking with CS, and I know this because I was, but only because I knew someone in TO who put me on. One of the biggest myths OAT is that people were really checking for him back then.

CS is alright, I enjoy it. But it's unpolished and dated. Still has some fire cuts tho. But SFG was still a huge step up.

Maybe that what it is, career has moved so big and so fast that it got a little lost in the hype. Still an amazing project for me.

stop taking the opinions of a small minority(most ppl just say sfg ain't that great to sound different)

It's not a small minority tho. People really don't respect that project . There's more universal love and respect for K&OJ than SFG.

I was working at a radio station when this dropped, and fukk, I remember there was piles of promo copies of this and nobody at the station was even remotely interested. I ganked em and gave em to my buds, the rest is history.

I was still indifferent about Drake then, but it's definitely one of his best projects

I honestly knew that he was gonna take over the rap game when this dropped, not even from listening to him rap...but by how cold his production/management team was

Before I had to replace my Harddrive years ago, it was easily my most played project.

I had every pre-so far gone on my drive.

IN FACT, Drake has a show scheduled in like 07/08 that he canceled in my city cause he couldn't sell enough tix. I was THAT early on dude.

I remember seeing Room for Improvement on these rap blogs and everyone saying it was fire.

True. It felt so organic, like it just happened or you just stumbled upon it and that's what made it feel great. Truth was, there was a lot of behind the scenes work and marketing to get him where he was.
