How has there not been a John Brown movie

Walter Raleigh tried to seek a colony where freed blacks, natives and whites could live together (Roanoke).
He also I think helped make St Augustine a haven for free'd slaves. And instigated uprisings and was down with us

Not a lot of white people were about it, but John Brown and Walter Raleigh were.

Anytime someone brings up John Brown i always think about growing up in Akron when my grandpa was alive. He use to invoke the name of John Brown similar to taking the lord's name in vain whenever he was upset, stressed or about to wear some little bad ass kids(ie me and my cousins) ass out with the strap....he'd be like "OH John Brown it!! "

Back then and even for the longest when i was grown i never knew who John Brown was but when i found out he was a white abolitionist i was legit like

So i for one would love to see a movie about him...oh and i believe they did a test run of similar subject matter with that 2016 Mcconaughey movie Free State of Jones. Don't know if it bombed or at least broke even at the box office.

Movie bombed. $50 million budget but brought in only $25 million.
