How is Brian Kelly doing so well in recruiting?

I dont follow cfb recrutign much but looking at this under armour game he just got a comittment from one of the best athletes in the country

Has Notre Dama dropped their hard academic standards or is Kelly just a great recruiter?

It's easily both.

And Notre Dame relaxed their academic standards for athletes back when Lou Holtz was there. They also have more diverse majors where athletes can "hide" in.
