i'm from niagara falls, which is like 10 mins away. the biggest problem is the winters. it just gets so cold and be like that maybe 4-6 months. the summers and springs are real comfortable.overall, a lot of good events and things to do- sporting events, music, entertainment. the downtown area in buffalo is actually building up nicely. the canalside is the area like an entertainment district where the bills and sabres owner built it up.
on the bad side, it is a lot of poverty and people struggling up there. and crime in rougher ends of towns is real. but if you going to college, you probably not gonna be into all that. i personally would move back if they didn't have them winters. i just can't do it no more, but majority of my dad and mom side of the family up there. my brother and grandma there but most of our family migrated south.
a lot of places to travel also within 4 hour range like cleveland(2.5-3 hours), detroit(3 hours), toronto (less than 2 hours, closer to a hour), syracuse etc. depending on what you like, you should be able to enjoy yourself but prepare for the winters. lately they have had milder ones, but when it ramp up, it's not fun at all. i go home every year in the spring and summer times.
a lot of local food places to eat, real good wings, pizza, steak and cheese. but you can get fat quick if there if you not active all that eating and being inside during winter will get out. and also people be having a lot of kids, cause basically during the winters that what is done, chicks be getting knocked up.
i wrote a novel lol but PM me if you need more info, peace
