I got out last month after doing 4 years.

Got a civilian contractor gig on the same base around the corner from my old command. It was perfect because I did nothing but expeditionary logistics during my time in, and this is what my new job specializes in. I make more working part time than I did while I was in the Navy. I was bummed at first because getting out wasn't my choice, but now I got my shyt straight life is treating me pretty good. No more duty, no more deployments... etc. I got a few stacks for selling my leave but wasn't eligible for involuntary separation pay because I didn't do six years.

I'm planning on using the post 9/11 GI Bill to go back to school during the fall... they pay for your tuition and books in full (as long as you have over 3 years in) and they give you E-5 housing pay for 3 years while you're in school.
