When they talk about the "economy" doing well, they are not talking about people. They are referring to businesses. People are only needed to get work done so a company can deliver a product/service for a profit and technology is continually changing that.

this is true. If nikkas are jobless but stock market is making people money then that = good economy.
4-8 years ago gig workers weren't so high. So someone who is unemployed now turns to uber eats/ door dash/ grub hub etc.
Yeah that's a big difference. Employment has nothing to do with how much money businesses make.

They are not accounting for the jobs they eliminate. Profits are always profits, most corporations aren't reporting losses in the quarterly estimates, just not profitable enough. So to save some pennies they do, have been doing, and continue to do mass layoffs. So the jobs were there, they just decided not to hire and close the positions. People have no idea how hard the lean into immigrant worker visas a d the categories that are used to justify avoiding paying American wages.....

Yeah out of necessity. That’s a bad thing.
In the USA Gig Workers were included in the Employed numbers during the Obama era which somewhat started skewing the books more
