How is "The year of the dog again" not DMX second best album and completely slept on??!

It boggles my mind all these years just how SLEPT ONNNNN this album is!!! I was bumping it the other day after a few years of not listening to it and it just blew my mind as to how no one really talks about it! It has some of DMX's best work "Life be my song" "Blown away", "Life be my song" "Lord give me a sign" "Baby motha" etc. You bump it in the whip, take a long drive and you'll realize how coherent the album really is. This is also the only album X dropped on sony when they kind of traded him for Nas at that time.

Not as bad as people say I guess, but imo, in no way shape or form is this better than any of his first 5 albums lmao..definitely not his first 3 at least.
Grand champ gets hated on but imo if he took off 4 or 5 of the weaker/filler songs along with a couple of skits that would be just as good as "flesh of my flesh" and "and then there was x", I mean...it had 24 tracks on it

I loved this album. I think it's slept on cuz it came out when rap was transitioning into the bullshyt it's become today. Still bump this album. Solid 8/10 to me.
