Treating you employer like your daddy, is kinda pitiful to be honest.
They have no obligations to you once the employment is terminated.
Yall wouldn't expect a regular job to look out for you like that. Hey how come Sams club didn't loan me some money? i worked for them 12 years ago. They just gonna let me starve? cmon man. Join the military or something if you want that kind of treatment after you leave.

I get what you're saying and agree with you, but in the hip-hop industry, they treat it like family. In the case like Cash Money where they were all together even before music, they don't consider it an employee/boss situation.

No, the hip hop community is just unprofessional so people think they can treat it like family. But really they are just a group of independent contractors doing jobs for or with each other.

If you are off my label for a decade plus

Why am I suddenly suppose to take care of a grown man for the rest of his life?

The problem with rap is that it has no retirement plan. Majority of these dudes will be lukewarm/warm/hot for 1 year then they still have to survive the rest of their lives. Diddy didn't owe him anything unfortunately. 12 years is too long to be expecting anything.
