Never in the History of Humanity have so many people lived single and alone for most of their adulthood, especially not working class people. Just in the recent 25 years or so has the rise of credit cards and massive debt allowed the working middle class been able to survive alone. Those times may be coming to an end soon with inflation.
Growing up in the 90s I recall every one shacking. Even grandma keep her a working man to help with them bills. That's when you had aunt and older cousins living with a man for years with no consideration of marriage. They were surviving the times. They had no choice but to come together and make it work. If these prices stay high, we will be forced to do the same thing soon.
