It's the current culture tho. If you ask most of our people to drop a freestyle... nikkas who never dealt with guns gone talk it . Same with talking about "bytches" etc. it's officially ingrained in the culture

subject matter may catch an eye before actual words...half these nikkas admit they're not listening to the words anyway. they just care about the beat, cursing really won't change nothing. wayne didn't curse early on while the rest of the hot boyz did, no one cared

like others have said: as long as it's hot, no one would care...sometimes artists cuss to try to make a song 'hot', and it makes songs worse, especially rnb songs....

anyway, rakim did this very thing and no one cared....hell, most dont even notice until it's pointed out to them....

Here's the setup: He does NOT mention that he doesn't curse, it's not part of his angle/marketing.....but he just simply doesn't curse in his rhymes. He still raps over Metro/Zay etc trap beats like these other dudes. He fits the same mold of 21 Savage, or Migos or these other new dudes, BUT he doesn't need to use profanity.

The only "bad" word he will use is nikka.

How long before fans notice? Will they care?

I never did. I didn't even know Chamillionaire made clean music till like last year lol. Will Smith didn't either back when he was hot. Still bumped that shyt.

i think its better when a rappers curses a lot less. the words go thru a kind of semantic saturation and lose their impact. so when they do curse. . .u listen and are like "dang. this dude is mad"

It wasnt really a gimmick....i guess his mom wouldnt let him curse til he was old enough

it was allegedly his "daddy" Birdman who didn't want him cursing as a youngster. Go figure.
