How long did it take you to start making beats you like?

A nikka been fukking with fruity loops for about a month now, I just listened to all my shyt and realized how bad my beats suck
I just been watching mad youtube tutorials tho, got no idea what else to do to get better tho, and I'm not sure I wanna buy equipment if I'm not gonna progress anytime soon

nikkas still using Fruity Slicer? Slicex is 10 times better. Hell I usually just chop shyt up in edison and drag it into the playlist.

It's preference. I personally don't use either slicex or fruity slicer. Edison is the way to go for me.

I have no idea how to actually put the beat together in FL studio I got some stuff that's good for that little 4 bar loop or whatever, but to make a whole track IDK how to put it together, like the patterns and stuff, it confuses me is there a way to break down the actual putting the beat together by each instrument? IDK why im asking this hear, just seeking help brehs
