How long should someone stay in one job?

Iv been in three companies now. 1st one i spent 2years there, 2nd one was there for exactly a year and now im in my 3rd one, iv been here for 6 months and im already thinking about moving on

and i hvnt really been moving laterally, iv been moving for similar jobs on the same level. iv got lots of experience across different industries ...but the people i was with in my first job are in higher positions than me now

i need a big move, old heads whats the best strategy? to grind it out in one company for long (5 years) working your way up or to hustle thru different jobs till you get to the top.

until you get to a position where you are like . sometimes it takes a while. i'm 35, and i JUST found the place where i want to be long term.

I don't know...probably because I haven't had a job in years. However my hiring process ensures only the best candidates get the positions because I have a view towards long term growth. Can't be having fickle minded n!ggas in any successful enterprise.

first move was to get experience in a different field and was frustrated with lack of opportunities...now i just realised that you are going to get the same shyt in all companies so i might as well chase money.
