With all the shyt coming out against the NCAA and the dumb ass rules become talked about more. It's gonna happen eventually.

Unless the NBA opens up the D League to make it a REAL development league and not just a place for no name dudes and people kicked out of college. They'll start losing money for some years.

So it's either D League, overseas, or college.

They probably want more fame and money while playing competitively, so a lot will start going overseas.

If any of these international leagues were getting heavy television coverage in America then this would be more probable. And of course not every 17-, 18-, or 19-year-old is or should be willing to work overseas without their families.

On the low, if anyone had the money to do it, this would be the perfect situation for somebody to just create another basketball league in this country and try to snatch up players straight out of high school or that first year of college if the NBA ends up raising the age limit next CBA. The NBA would probably destroy that other league though before it even got a chance to show up.

Didn't Brandon Jennings already become the guinea pig for this and warned ppl that it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Here's the issue, a one and done freshman at a major school is going to have all the perks as a millionaire overseas, except they don't have to play in some foreign land where they don't know anyone, don't speak the language, and don't like the food. A person that age just wants a few things: to hoop, fukk bytches, and look/be fresh, and maybe a gaming console or some shyt. All of which will be available at their disposal.

Maaan, they got a development league and don't even know how to use it.

They could milk more money from it if they gave it more attention and let the top receruits sign out of HS.

If Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Ennis, or Randle were playing I think they would've sold way more seats which would give more money.

If they hired these European coaches so they could coach almost NBA players the real fundamental way they do over there this AAU takeover play style in the NBA would for the most part end.

They just gotta use the damn D League

They really could...let's be honest you know who is going to be an NBA draft prospect from the senior year of high school.

Bump because just discovered this thread.

Answer to your question not long or they will probably sign up with the CBL aka community recreation leagues. Also, about overseas it's a good option. Going to college and playing isn't the only way.

Here's a question:

If say Minnesota had sent Wiggins to D-League to get more seasoning, what would you consider Wiggins to be?

Not anytime soon. Cats are scared of the unknown. Go overseas and get paid but not know anything or go to duke for 6 months and not get paid but not have to face any unknowns.
Cats are gonna keep going to college for a long time because of this. It's all they know. So they go with the familiar.

Solid post with a lot of truth. I would like to add that the top guys like wiggins, kyrie, wall etc are already seeing money when they're in college. Whether we're talking about boosters, agents or shoe companies, the cats that are guaranteed to go are already seeing some doe. so like you've stated why get greedy and entertain the unknown when for 6 months you can be the big man on campus, fukk hoes and stay in your comfort zone? I agree though-- don't see it happening no time soon.
