I’ve been thinking about the Water Wars for a looong time. My teacher in Kindergarten actually told us we would be deciding water rights for cities and states when we reached our mid 20s….that shyt really stuck with me.
Egypt and Ethiopia are already going through it, and I expect a war to be fought over it. I’ve had my eyes on that conflict since it began and I expect it to be in the history books, in the worst way possible.
Fighting over oil has led to intense war and fighting…because it’s a resource we need, but not as in your face essential as WATER. I’m telling you, every time I get really thirsty and grab a bottle of water from a convenience store, I think of how thirsty I am, and how I might feel like that not because I forgot to bring a water bottle with me, but because there’s not enough clean water..and then in my thirst I’d have to fight someone for my water…
If I had money I’d be buying up water rights right now

To have to fight over something like water…it will bring out the absolute worst in humanity.
The only hope is for an energy revolution in the next couple of decades to make desalination sustainable.
I expect things to get really bad in 10-15 years in the US. Internationally, probably 15-20 years, Egypt and Ethiopia probably go to war in 5-10 years.
