Never cancel a card. The additional balance helps your credit rating. Thing is you have to rotate card usage so the credit card issuer doesn’t report your card as idle. I have 4 cards. That’s as many as I can reasonably use at once. Say make one your door dash card, one Amazon, one eBay, etc. if you don’t pay off your balance monthly just sparingly use the high interest cards.

I’ve got a few other vendor cards I never use because it’s just not worth the hassle to me.

If you're really about that life (and if you haven't done so already) you should refi to a first-lien HELOC.

I noticed once I enrolled in auto-pay and didn't have any late charges my credit limit went up expeditiously. In the past 12 months Ive gotten at least 4 increases
