how many days of studying/ preparation did it take you to get your first cert?

Took me 4 months. I already had background knowledge from my uni studies and probably should have finished it in 2 months if I wasn't lazy at times.

Make a schedule and try your best to stick to it. If you work, try to study for an hour after work and go ham on 1 day of the weekend. You can chill for the other weekend day. If you dont work then you can easily do 2-3 hours studies a day.

A+ - about 2 weeks, I had been in computers since high school though and worked in the field, taking apart and putting them together for years with my dad.
Network + about a month, again I already had a background thoguh.
Sec+ 3 months.

Took me 3 months to get part 1 of CCNA down to pass, but this was the 680 series, don't know how much that applies to today's test

One week. I did about 3 hours a day...but that was mostly because there were videos in my study material.
If you study long, you study wrong.

This was for Life Insurance, btw.

I got my Microsoft Technology Associate(MTA) Certification without studying. I barely got the passing score though. You needed a 70 percent and I got a 71.
